The charging wells are numbered #1 for
the front well and #2
for the rear well. Two Red LED indicators correspond to the #1 charging
well and Two Red LED indicators correspond to the #2.
To charge a radio with the battery attached insert it into
charge well #1 or charge
well #2. To charge
only battery, insert it into any vacant charge well.
When a radio or battery is placed into a charge well, the
proper two Red LED’s will light.
The first LED indicates that the unit is in the operating
mode and the second LED indicates that the battery is charging.
After the Standard Charge Rate period
of 8 to 10 hours the charged radio or battery should be removed
from the charger. It
is recommended that new batteries be given a full charge for best
performance. It may
be necessary to cycle a battery in order to overcome its inactivity
during storage.
If the charger is not being used, the
wall converter should be unplugged from the wall. Both should be
stored in a dry place.
The KDC 300S(D) is supplied with a 120VAC, 50/60 Hz input two prong
plug for connection to the wall plug. Its output at the charger plug
is rated up to 300mA, 12vdc for the supply of power to the
charger base. The charger
base will apply the proper voltage for charge to the battery at
a rate of between 120 to 200mA’s determined by the battery's characteristics.
The KDC 300S(D) charger is a constant current type charger and is
suitable for charging multiple types of rechargeable batteries.
